Meta X Project Report

"The project is going along fine; the subject has survived the enhancing and is now onto the rehabilitation stage. I am still waiting further instruction; boss is still amazed the boy survived it – no one else has. To tell the truth I was amazed as well, the boy's body began to die in the beginning, we already had given up when… when a small, almost impossible sound came to my ears: The beep, the beep of a recorded heartbeat. If you could see the infants body when the enhancing process took hold; his muscles became steel hard before my eyes, his cells formed a cell wall so thick that they looked unbreakable –are unbreakable. Lucky we'd already changed enough in him for the process to work properly because as soon the enhancing began our syringes and scalpels couldn't penetrate his skin or organs.
I still don't know where the baby came from; still don't know his true home… Home: such a far off and nearly forgotten thing here. Thirteen years in a floating space station can make a guy homesick. It scares me how deep I am getting into the project, getting into the subjects life. He is like a son to me; I feel pain when he cries, I help him when stumbles. The boss doesn't see it but the other doctors do; I have developed feelings for a subject, a tool in our major plan.
I don't exactly know the effects on the child other than his super-strength. The other subjects developed powers of flight before the… expired.
The subject is now twelve, eight years after the original enhancing, and yes; boss is still amazed. I leave tomorrow for home, I hope somebody knows what I did here – knows what I have accomplished. To tell the truth I don't want to leave the subject here, with these people: uncaring and unemotional.
